The Lusts Have Shifted
You know, it’s weird. All of a sudden, I’m less interested in these… …than I am in these (which happen to be Tory Burch “Kendricks”, aw)… …and both of them totally pale in comparison to this (another category entirely, yes, but I needed an excuse to post this picture). Original Article

Accessible Decor: Patios & Sunrooms
Reader Lila sent me this photo of the private patio adjacent to her new apartment (lucky girl!), asking for suggestions on what to do with it (apparently she can paint, renovate…whatever she likes). Because this is exactly the kind of problem I’d like to have, let’s do a little fantasizing. The possibilities with something like this are endless, so a good place to start is by...

Wide Open Spaces
I came to Canada prepared for chilly temperatures. The weather where my family lives (in New Brunswick) is sorta like California in the summer - warm to blisteringly hot during the day, but breezy and chilly once the sun drops. So: a perfect opportunity to break out some of the first few fall pieces I’ve been looking forward to getting back into, like cozy striped tops and bellbottoms. ...

Easy Vanilla Pie
This dessert, which my aunt Jo-Anne served to us for dinner last night, is similar to Sex In A Pan (can you tell my family has an affinity for pudding-based desserts?)…but even easier, if it’s possible. To make it, just whip up (or buy) a graham cracker crust, pour over vanilla pudding made with half the milk specified on the box (to thicken the texture), and top with whipped cream. ...

BrunchCritic August Dining Recs
Pictured above: baked eggs from August. I asked Andrea of BrunchCritic.com for her recommendations for the perfect brunch spots to take advantage of the last few weeks of beautiful weather (can you believe we only have a couple of weeks of Official Summer left?). After the jump, where she thinks you should go this weekend… Andrea: I like to think of late August as the best time to visit...

Well, That Was A Blast
Remember that whole “unlucky traveler” theme? It’s baaaack! Last night I flew to Canada for a few days to see my family, mostly because I likely won’t be able to come back for several months and I wanted to spend some time with my grandmother, and I was sort of nervous about international travel because, you know…eight months pregnant. But I figured, “Eh,...

Zodiac Sign Compatibility
Just looked into whether Kendrick and I are compatible, and discovered that we get an 8/10. Not bad! Seriously, though, this Zodiac Sign Compatibility site (discovered via alexisjulian) is so fun, and was pretty spot-on about our relationship in a lot of ways (although no one’s as spot-on as my aunt Trudy when it comes to this stuff; I’m in Canada with her right now, so I foresee a...
